  • Of the children living in poverty, 84,545 girls in Maryland missed more than 5 days of school last year.*
  • More than 12,500 girls scored below grade level in Biology, Algebra, or English on the 2014 Maryland State Assessment.*
  • 3,160 Girls dropped out of Maryland schools last year* compared to their male peers, girls who fail to graduate from high school have higher rates of unemployment; make significantly lower wages; and are more likely to need to rely on public support programs to provide for their families.

  • We address the academic, social, and emotional issues present in at-risk teenage girls that may limit their future success.
  • We offer services including life skills development mentoring, career and college planning, STEM education, and academic enrichment programs to teenage girls throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
  • We focus on providing the guidance and support that will allow young women to develop the mental, emotional and social life-skills they need to grow into responsible, self-sufficient adults.
  • We reduce the likelihood of delinquency, truancy, and other high-risk behaviors.
